Award Setup
A Notice of Award (NOA) is notification from the sponsor an award has been approved and funded. Typically, it contains information about the amount of funds obligated, the period for performance, and the scope of work. In addition, the notice provides information about the terms and conditions associated with the award.
An NOA is normally sent to the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). OSP is the authorized office to receive and accept award notices on behalf of the University. If a Principal Investigator (PI) receives an NOA directly, they should forward it to OSP for review, negotiation, and acceptance.
Once an award has been accepted, OSP issues a Kuali Notice of Award (NoA) which is OCGA’s notification to begin the award setup process in PeopleSoft. The setup process may take up to 3 business days to complete following receipt of the NOA provided the award package is complete and the budget is accurate and compliant with award terms and conditions.
