Office of Contract and Grant Accounting (OCGA)
OCGA ensures good stewardship of sponsored funds by managing the Financial Post Award activities of UMBC’s Restricted Funds.
OCGA’s objective is to provide financial support to the University in administering sponsored projects. Sponsored projects can be research, instruction or public service involving funding from an outside source under a legal agreement.
OCGA is responsible to the University and to the funding agencies for the financial and regulatory administration of these contracts and grants. We interpret policies of private and governmental funding agencies to ensure that expenditures adhere to regulation and guidelines, as well as implement UMBC policies and procedures related to contracts and grants.
OCGA is responsible for:
- PeopleSoft award setup and review
- Compliance review and analysis
- Revenue collection, receivable, and management
- Fiscal reporting and reconciliation
- Modification processing
- Invoicing
- Sponsored financial reporting and analysis
- Audit responses
